This is an example of our skies for well over a week. Look closely to the right and you'll see standing water. Believe me, we do not have standing water hours or days after a 1/2 inch rain. The ground is so soaked that water is everywhere. Of course, after suffering through a drought last year with the top soil blowing away, I do not complain but marvel at the fact standing water is in very slight depressions in the land. With every day of rain the aquifers are being regenerated and the springs feeding creeks and rivers are running again.

I click the picture to enlarge and I see water standing by. Aren't we thankful nature heal itself? So nice to hear after the drought last year you've got all the water you want for this coming spring and summer!! Happy weekend!

In California, too, the rains have been welcome except where they have caused mudslides. It is still not enough but we will take what we can get. Who knows what next year will bring.
I take it you're not in the part of Texas that got snowed on! My siblings are in the DFW area and got a foot!!!
D-Jan, we did not get snow; had about 5 minutes of sleet. Sun is shining now which is more than welcomed after days and days of gray skies and rain.
I lived in West Texas and saw skies like this. A storm was approaching, wasn't it?

Linda, normally that would be the case; however, the skies were clearing today. :D
Considering the summer drought it probably is nice to see water standing. We have had some rain and hardly any snow. With so little snow pack in the mountains right now we might have water shortages this summer. I guess we will take what we can get.
