Wood is the theme of this week's Brenda's Photo Challenge.
Handcrafted mesquite cross by a friend which hangs in my prayer closet.
Matches on hand in my prayer closet to light candles.
First attempt at a pattern cut from a used envelope for a tea cozy. Paper is made from wood fibers. I made a mistake in calculating the size; it should be almost twice the size it is here. Oh, the pattern sits on a wood desk top. :D

Until next time, God bless.

Great work!
nice wooden cross!
You know Lynn, if not for you I wouldn't know about this challenge. I wasn't aware about the next challenge LOL and thanks a lot. There are many wood sculptors here who carves crucifix in different ways but I think carving them in simple manner is more consecrated like the one on your first photo.

Beautiful cross! Love the craftsmanship. Good going!
Love your photos. I like the angle on the one with the match sticks
Love these pictures! I would never have known that last one was wood if you hadn't told me...
Great choices for your post.
I agree...that the last one is wood amazes me! Great photos!
That cross is beautiful and I never would have thought about wooden matches! Great photos. And your paper pattern is very interesting.
The pattern is to be a guide for cutting material for the tea cozy. I measured but somehow cut the pattern too small. Duh. lol The pattern photo was in the same batch for wood when it occurred to me that paper is made of wood fibers.
Awesome photos for the wood challenge! I especially love the cross, it's so beautiful!
Wonderful choices for the challenge Lynn. I love the wooden cross, mesquite is a wood I don't see very often here.
