Farmers Market Photo Challenge

Dripping Springs does not have a Farmers Market yet. The city is working on having one regularly -- there was a trial run a few weeks ago and it was a success. However, Onion Creek Farm Stand is open every Friday at 3 PM to 6 PM. I have been promising myself to go but would find an excuse not to do so. But I promised Squirrel Queen of The Road to Here that I would enter the Farmers Market Challenge. I am so glad to have gone; I ran into a couple of people I know, met at least one new friend, took some photos, bought some fresh produce and bought an organic round steak from a local cattle grower. Can't beat that: no mystery meat!

Rows and rows of tomatoes.

Rows and rows of corn. Hubby loves fresh corn better than anything. I have to keep a close eye on when this corn is ready, otherwise, it may be grounds for divorce if I don't bring him some!

Took a quick stroll out into her fields. Fat honey bees were all over these sunflowers except when I was ready to take the shot. I got lucky though and caught this one before it flew away.

BTW, hop over to The Road to Here to see photos of Farmers Markets around the country...or maybe the world?

Until next time, God bless.

Hi Lynn,

I finally got my act together and posted my photos and a link to yours. I love your produce stand, it looks like fun.

My favorite photo is the sink with beautiful plant, very cool.
I also like the really fresh corn, just go out and pick your own.

Have a wonderful weekend,
Judy

Hi Lynn, I like the third photo where the color of tomatoes and peppers, was that sweet potato?

Great photos! Look at those rows of tomatoes! I'm the host of Monday's drawing for the 'e' gift certificate from Amazon and I just wanted to thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving a caption. I'm checking out the blogs of the participants. I'll be back!

Al, I think the basket you are asking about is filled with round red potatoes. I really do not know if sweet potatoes are grown in the area.

Anne, I can hardly wait for the corn. :D We can make a meal on corn, tomatoes and onions.

Donna, it was hot. I was in the field taking photos for about 20 - 30 minutes without a hat. My face was scorched and burned for about an hour or so.

PJ, thanks for visiting. Marianne of Onion Creek Farms had at least 8 rows of tomatoes just a week away from ripening. I'll be back next Friday.
My 5 tomato plants have produced all of about 4 tomatoes; all of which were meals for the birds.

Looking forward to your return. :D

This is closer to our farm markets! We have canopies lined up in a parking lot, but it's baskets of local produce, no coffee stand, no orchids...

Yum. Fresh!

This was fun, hope you enjoyed it. I will host the next one on July 25th, we all should have even more goodies to share by then. Hope you will join in the challenge.

Thanks for joining.
