Paint Shop Pro

I've been doing an online class at LVS Online for Corel's Paint Shop Pro. I've taken quite a few classes from LVS over the years and have been very satisfied -- classes are inexpensive and the instructors are most helpful. We started with these ribbons.

Erased the background, made single files of each ribbon, straighten the ribbons, and used the ribbon as text fill. Neat, isn't it?

Turned the ribbon into a picture frame.

It was fun turning the ribbon into a frame so I did the other two. I used a photo by Ron Lacey, who teaches at LVS, of the grosbeak in the pink frame.

You might want to check out LVS Online for a quick class. This class is Foundation II and I will be taking Corel's Print Shop Pro X2 Foundation III after this session ends. BTW, if you do register for a class, tell them I sent you. I may get a discount on my next class -- not sure but think I saw that somewhere in their site. :D

Until next time, God bless.

Do you have that Corel Paint Shop Pro software? Is it expensive and how is it useful for your website? Looks very interesting.

No, the Paint Shop Pro is not expensive, nothing like Photoshop, or at least when I last priced Photoshop. There may be a pared down version of Photoshop, but I bought Paint Shop Pro about a year ago and upgraded to the X2 version late last year or the first of this one.

The LVS classes are teaching me to use it. lol In addition to the 3 or 4 beginner levels of instruction, I think there is at least one class for digital photos, maybe two, at LVS. If you do a LVS class, check to see if you can get a reduced price on the software as a student at LVS. I had already purchased the software when I registered for classes.

Even with my limited knowledge, I use PS Pro all the time on my photos before publishing them in the blog.

Sounds like fun, I'll have to take a look. That's really neat with the ribbons.

I hope you don't mind but I posted a link to the B&W Photo challenge on my blog.

Have a great weekend,
Judy

I have Paint Shop Pro 9 and haven't had the time to learn all about it since I've had it (years now). Maybe someday.

MA, it was fun! I like this session better than the first, but you need the first to get to this one. lol

SQ, thanks for posting the B&W challenge on your blog. You are so sweet to do so.

Brenda, take a look a LVS because the lessons can apply to the Pro 9 version. It does take some time to work through each lesson, but you really learn the program. If you have problems, the instuctors answer you right away with the solution.
