Fantastic Photos

There are so many fabulous photos on various blogs that I am dying to know the make and model of camera being used. I do not think my camera puts out the same quality of photos that I've seen posted and it is super slow. I've been searching cameras on the Net but cannot decide which one will give the crisp detail I've seen on other sites. I've been hesitant to ask since it might be a too personal question. So, if you want to share the make and model of your camera, please leave a comment.

I use a Fujifilm S2000HD and I couldn't be happier with it.
Photographers love to tell eveyone about their cameras.
What camera are you using now?

I have a Nikon Coolpix 4300 -- it is at least 6 years old. I recently bought the wide angle and the telescopic lens. I've really only started using this camera with any regularity since I started the blog. I just changed the picture quality from normal to fine so that may help.

But I wanted to start getting an idea what type of camera is being used for photos I'm seeing on your site as well as others. Needless to say I am not experienced but wanted to hear about other cameras in the event I upgrade. I'm one of those that research and then mull things over for months, possibly years, before doing something. lol

One thing I do is take multiple photos, lots of photos. I might take a hundred shots and use a third to a half of those. That's the great thing about a digital, you can delete what you don't use.

If you decided to get a new one look for the highest megapixel you can afford. This camera is a 10megapixel with a 15X zoom lens and does great micro photos. It just has the right combination of features I wanted. I shopped for several months before getting it. I like to research and shop around too.

Hi Lynn -

I use a Canon 50D - digital SLR. Love this camera and the lenses!! I upgraded from 20D recently. I also have a little point & shoot that is also really good - Canon Elph 1100 IS Just depends on what you want to be able to do with it?

SQ and Mary-Austin, I thank you both for giving me this info. I did a search on Donna's Cannon XT, as well as the Fujifilm S2000 this afternoon.
MA, I'll do a search on your Cannon later tonight.

I just wanted some feedback on various cameras because I know I've admired all of your photos but when I started researching, there are a gazillion models out there. And, who can truly "trust" what the manufacturers' write. lol

Of course, the photographer is 75 percent of the photo but a good camera helps. I am a little slack on the photographer part.

I had been using a Nikon D70 with a Nikkor 24-120mm lens (vibration reduction) until a few months ago. I upgraded to a Nikon D90 with a Nikkor 18-200 lens (vibration reduction). Both cameras take awesome pictures. And I use Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.

My hubby is a retired photographer (40 years) and he highly recommends and uses Nikon products.

Also, we get all our camera equipment from B&H in New York (online) with free shipping and no tax. Hubby has been doing business with them for decades.

Thanks, Donna, I've been looking at the Nikon since that is the make of the camera I'm using right now. However, I wanted to hear about other camera makes so I could make a comparison of satisfaction level while at the same time seeing what is produced. :D

I am definitely interested in a the stabilization feature if I buy another one. Since my camera is 5-6 years old, I was able to pick up several lens earlier this year at a much reduced price so it may be more a matter of my learning to use what I have. The one behind the camera is at least 75-80 percent of the photo and I may be to low on the percentage given to the photographer.

I'm just looking around, getting feedback from you guys, reading up on various models, ya know, kind of checking things out. :D

I have a Canon Power Shot SD1100 IS. Its a small camera that fits in my purse and is easy to take along everywhere I go. I bought it in February and love it. It is so much better than my old Fuji. Like you I mull things over and research before I buy anything. I went to the Books-a-Million located by our Best Buy several times and looked at Consumer Reports and Camera Magazines to get an opinion from an impartial source rather than reading a manufacture's review. My Canon had top reviews for my price point.

Thanks, Butterfly, I'll certainly look into that camera.
