Yellow Boots and Rain

Ever since I started blogging in November 2008, I've been crying about the drought with top soil blowing away, no grass, and dry creeks, but that has all changed. We've had seven inches of rain this month, and to celebrate the break in the drought, I bought these yellow boots. Somewhat conservative by nature, I almost bought the black pair but thought no way - yellow it is! My last pair of rubber boots were black and for boys. The store did not have my size and I was desperate for a pair at the time.

These fit well and are great for walking in mud, uneven ground, and over rocks. Aren't they great?!

I couldn't resist modeling them and hubby says I will not be overlooked. :D

Until next time, God bless.

They are so much prettier than my brown ones!

Speaking of boots, they are very much in demand here right now after the strong typhoon and the flooding, we wouldn't care about the color.

I love them! They remind me of the galoshes I had when I was a kid. And yes, it's wonderful that you now have had some rain. But enough, already! Feast or famine, drought or deluge.

I LOVE the yellow boots!

Practical & pretty, now that's two words you don't normally see being used together.

Yay for rain!

AL, sorry I can't lend you mine. Our coasts are subject to hurricanes (typhoons) and I well understand the flooding, etc. I've been through several when I lived in Houston.

Donna, you hit the nail on the head -- a statement! :D

Lily, these are so much better than my other ones. I can walk without my feet sliding around inside. lol

Mary-Austin, you are getting some rain too, aren't you? Any flooding?

DJan, I remember those old galoshes...no one like them.

Melanie, practical and pretty -- that is why I couldn't resist. Went to buy some moisturizer and had to walk by the shoe department going in and going out. I stopped on the way out; bought these and a pair of eggplant heels.

Thats what I need! We had over 7 inches in one day. September has been so rainy, but at last the sun has came out again.
So glad you finally got some rain!

Thank goodness you finally got rain. You are pretty jazzy with those yellow boots. I like them. They lighten things up and make a sunny statement too. Cool boots!!

Butterfly, good grief, 7 inches of rain in ONE day! You are in Texas, too, aren't you? So far we have had 8+ inches this month with a little over an inch today. Our rainwater collection tanks are overflowing and I am opening faucets to take the pressure off. Now we are wishing we had another tank. lol

I am so thankful the rain, though.

Rae, love the word jazzy....plus what Melania used -- pretty and practical. So what we have here are yellow boots that are pretty, practical, make a statement, and jazzy. Love it!

Congrats on your rain! nothing is as good as a fun pair of mud boots. I have a ladybug pair, YES, ladybug. They're hilarious but not as practical as yours. Someday I will buy some more like your yellow boots :) -kate

I'm glad you finally got some rain and I love your new yellow boots. There's nothing wrong with making a statement.

I love them! I find myself buying black or earth tones but every once in a while I have to break away and buy a wild color. I want some green plaid ones!

Kate, the lady bug boots sound precious.

Judy, for the most part the statement is made when I walk the dogs to the limited traffic that travels the road, except that I make a statement to myself when I put them on. lol

Daisy, on the same day that I got the yellow boots, I saw some with flowers, maybe some plaid, etc., at another store. I almost bought a pair but nixed the idea. Then, when I saw the yellow boots, I couldn't resist. lol
