I'm just not in the mood to write for the blog because I have nothing but complaints. Since September 15, 2010, we have had 4 and 3/10 inches of rain and our most dry season - June through September - is just ahead. Instead of winter gray outside to spring green we went straight to late summer brown and high winds since March. In my experience, you can water your garden with a watering can, but there has GOT to be some rain to really make things grow. Except for a few tomatoes, the garden is a no-go.
Okay, enough of complaints, but wanted to let people know that I'm still around. lol
Until next time, God bless.

Glad to see you're still around. I am sorry for the dry season, I would be worried and in a bad mood myself if we had the same situation in my country.
Wishing you rain!
Sue.
If I could send you rain I'd do it. we had about 14 inches in April and in May around 7. The river is still up but is below flood stage. [Louisville KY]
That really stinks, I don't blame you for not being in the mood. Hope you get rain soon
I'm so sorry that the weather is not cooperating for a garden this year! We had a pretty wet spring and now it's gotten dry and hotter than hades. Our villa sprinkler system is not working so we are having to water our lawns and flowerbeds by hand. But we are counting our blessings because we have ben spared from the tornadoes and the terrible flooding in some parts of the country!
I have been wondering about you Lynn, but I thought maybe you were hard at work in the garden.
Sorry to hear about your lack of rain. I wish I could send you some, we have had almost that much this month. Too bad about the garden, I hope you get some rain soon.
We really need rain to, not as bad as ya'll.
But, with all the bad storms, I'm scared to wish for rain.
I feel your pain. We've had about ten inches since the beginning of the year. Just a few short five miles north they have had at least twice that amount. One garden is abandoned since I have no way to water it. The other when planted got constant water for four days to get the sub moisture. It's the greenest area of my lawn. I remember driving into Austin with the cattle for the Star of Texas show in March and have that OMG it looks terrible. My prayers are with you for rain for all of our state.
Oh Lynn, I know all about it!
I HATE to see my water bill this next month...

Bless your heart. I can't imagine only getting that little amount of rain in that time period. We have got more than that, but are still in need of more rain.
We were up at Lake Travis this weekend. It sure is getting low.
I am hoping that we will get a nice, gentle tropical storm here in TExas. Nothing too crazy. Just a bit of rain.
SMiles,
Teresa
Here in Austin we've had two bits of rain a month apart. A few days after each one, rain-lilies have come up, as I showed in my posting today:

I'm with you. Fort Worth is in the same state. I had three tomatoes no bigger than 1" in diameter. Sad state of affairs. Having grown up in London, I never thought I would ever be wishing for rain.

I know what mean! This drought has gotten me down too. But cheer up, it will rain again.
Hi Ms Lynn,
Just wanted to check in on you and let you know that I think of you each night as I water my yard and hope and pray that you have received a little bit of rain. It's terribly dry here in East Texas, but I can't even begin to imagine not getting rain for such an extended time as you.
Hi Lynn, I was just thinking about you and thought I would drop by to say hi. From what I hear it is still dry and hot down your way.
I hope your summer is going reasonable well.
Judy
